Barrister Fatima is a woman champion, a trailblazer; a lawyer by profession, with over 20 years experience working in the telecommunication sector. She is a woman with many stories of greatness and possibilities, who rose from the bottom to the top, breaking barriers and shattering glass ceilings. Although, from the Northern part of Nigeria, where women’s voices are hardly heard. Barrister Fatima through hard work, determination and a strong belief in herself overcame different barriers by being the first female lawyer in her community. Her story has inspired a lot of young girls from Northern Nigeria to pursue their dreams.
She is a strong advocate of education. After seeing many children in Northern Nigeria roam the streets and unable to go to school due to economic reasons, she was challenged to do something. In 2020, she founded Al-Ibrab Memorial School for Orphans & Less Privileged in the ancient City of Kano, Nigeria. The school provides free education, free uniforms and books to less privileged and orphaned children. Barrister Fatima, with support from family, friends and colleagues started the school with less than 20 pupils in 20220. In less than 5 years, the school has over 200 pupils in nursery, primary and secondary school.
Barrister Fatima has a dream where every less privileged and orphaned child in Northern Nigeria has access to free and quality education that will help them to compete favorably with their counterparts.
