Dr. Fikelephi Jackson

– Can you briefly describe yourself and the amazing work that your organization is doing across Africa and Europe?

My name is Dr. Fikelephi Jackson; I am the CEO & Founder of Against All Odds Still Standing Charity, the Proprietor of (FJM) Fikelephi Jackson Ministries & Eagle’s Threshing Floor Ladies Platforms. I am an Award-Winning Humanitarian, Activist and a Philanthropist.

I am happily married with seven children, I run a weekly TV show, I am an Author, a Mentor, an International Speaker and Broadcaster. My book ‘Against All Odds I Survived!’ has touched the lives and hearts of many women all around the world.

‘Against All Odds Still Standing Charity (AOS) is a non-profit organization in the UK and Africa. Over the last ten years, my team and I have managed to raise funds for Secondary School Students in Africa. Currently, we are building a Secondary School in Malawi. This project has given hope to many young people.

Furthermore, AOS has supported & empowered Women & Girls all over the world who are victims & vulnerable as a result of Gender based issues, including widows & those who are HIV/Aids.

– What is the inspiration behind your development initiatives in Africa?

I found my purpose through pain, when I hit rock bottom, I believed it was over for me, I became suicidal, I made a call to the Man Upstairs, who turned around, then I knew I had been given a second chance to rescue the bruised and battered, to be the voice of the voiceless. I made a vow that I will go to the four corners of the world starting especially the continent of Africa.

– You are on a Mission to Rebuild Lives, Restore Hopes in Africa. How challenging and fulfilling has it been for you and your organization?

As a survivor now, a victor of so many odds, it has been challenging stepping out in faith has been challenging, funding has been very challenging.

– You are a mother, a wife, an author, an activist and a professional woman. Looking at this many parts of you, how have you been able to create a work-life balance and juggle around these many parts of you?

Balancing the roles has been challenging, I’m grateful to my husband and my children who have been a pillar of strength as well as good Mentors. Being humble and being  teachable helped. Most importantly my trust in God, I realize that it is only by the Grace of God that I am an Overcomer.

– In terms of your work, Impact and Empowerment for women and girls around Africa, what does the next 20 years look like for you?

The next 20 years is all about leaving a legacy behind for the next generations by changing the narratives of our communities, especially the 54 countries. Building Schools & Universities, Empowerment Centres where gaps are; education is key.

– Looking at the many things you do, from building schools for vulnerable children and building shelters for victims of GBV, which of your work are you most proud of and why?

Seeing lives being transformed through Against All Odds Still Standing organization, which I founded over 11 years ago is truly humbling. One particular Lady A, we found her being forced into prostitution, serviced up to 6 men a day, today, she is happily married. She is back in school and running a very successful business that we funded for her as part of our empowerment programme, completely regaining her dignity.

A double orphan boy-child in Malawi we found selling petrol to pay for his school fees, last month he graduated from Malawi University, we took him through his secondary education until he finished at university, another student currently doing Medicine.
