“Surrounding yourself with supportive and empowering women can make a significant difference.”

Can you briefly describe yourself and the work that you do?

With humility and passion, I embrace my identity as a multifaceted Black woman dedicated to excellence and driven to create a brighter future for the upcoming generation. I strive to be a shining example of dedication and impact, working tirelessly to build a world where marginalized communities can thrive with access to quality education, sustainable development, peace, and justice.

Through my professional journey, I embody an unwavering commitment to these values, wearing many hats as a humanitarian, entrepreneur, educator, human rights advocate , and resilient community change-maker. I am proud to serve and empower others, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.

You are one of the powerful women in Cameroon, transforming the landscape of poverty through your philanthropic work. What is the inspiration behind your many acts of charity?

As an African Christian woman, I declare with pride that my strength and resilience come from God and the wisdom of my ancestors. Their guidance and grace empower me daily to serve those in need, not just as a duty, but as a sacred calling. I am humbled and honored to answer this call, and I trust in the continued support and inspiration of my ancestors and my faith to fuel my passion for serving others.

What is the one piece of advice you wish you had received when you were starting out?

One of my favorite quotes from Spiderman that stuck with me states that “with great power comes greater responsibility.” I keep it as a guiding map to remember how crucial it is to not become a flash in a pan seeking fleeting fame or temporary glory out of my work, but rather striving for more substantial and long-lasting impact to build this meaningful legacy I want to leave to the next generation. Whenever I am tempted to forget it, life has a way of humbling me to bring me back on track.

How can professional women like you build a work-life balance?

I will advise them to be flexible with their time, but unwavering in their integrity. Make self-care and self-appreciation a priority, and steadfastly uphold your values and principles by choosing to never compromise them no matter the challenges you face.

There is a general belief that women don’t support women. Do you think that is true?

That comment perpetuates harmful gender stereotypes and discrimination. However, I believe in the power of female solidarity and uplifting one another. Surrounding yourself with supportive and empowering women can make a significant difference. Remember, the universe seeks harmony and balance, and by working together and celebrating each other’s strengths, we can create a more inclusive and equitable environment for all. Ultimately it all starts with you and the woman you aspire to be.

Beyond your own achievements, how do you hope to empower and inspire other women and girls?

I have yet another quote to answer this question and it states: “The woman you’re becoming will cost you people, relationships, spaces and material things. Choose her over everything.” Meaning, as you evolve into the best version of yourself, be prepared to outgrow certain relationships, environments, and possessions. Embrace this transformation and prioritize your growth, even if it means letting go of things that no longer serve you.

Continue to invest in your education and personal development, and celebrate your achievements along the way. Always choose to honor the incredible woman you are becoming by defying societal labels and expectations. It’s only then you can hope your life’s journey will serve as motivation and inspiration to others who hear about your incredible life.
